Tok to Haines
On Tuesday morning we said goodbye to Tok and pointed the Winnebago towards Destruction Bay, Yukon Territories. During the first part of the journey we had great views of the Tanana River.

We got a glance at a couple of Trumpeter Swan swimming in a pond north of the highway.

The highway gave us some ups and downs with the frost heaves. Between the frost heaves and construction the journey to Destruction Bay took over six hours.

We were more than pleased to get settled in to our campsite at Congdon Creek Campground, a Yukon Territories Provincial Campground on Kluane Lake. The setting was beautiful and our campsite was tucked into the trees and very pleasant.

The bear warnings made us hopeful about seeing a bear but it was not to be. I managed to chop a few logs into firewood and we had a pleasant time of relaxation by the campfire.

After dinner we took a walk along the shore of Kluane Lake and enjoyed the view of the mountains. Even after an effort to walk into the woods we failed to spot a bear.

On Wednesday morning after breakfast we packed up the Winnebago and set out on the final leg of our journey to Haines. Today we had breakfast in the Yukon Territory, lunch in British Columbia and dinner in Alaska.

When we crossed the border back into Alaska we descended to Haines along the Kelhini River and got a good look at the Saksaia Glacier.
